Make Your Windows Green

Go Green or Eco –friendly products are the new buzz words these days.  As a Mother and an environmentally conscious person I couldn’t agree more and I feel that there are simple ways to do our part.  Going this route doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy beautiful design and style in your home at the same time.
Hunter Douglas has designed the most energy efficient shade on the market today it is called the Duette Architella.   More than 50% of your heating and cooling energy escapes through your windows which can really add up financially.  Not to mention the loss of energy resources.    The Duette Architella offers the insulation that your windows need by reducing the heat flow by 50%, thus saving you money and by using less energy you are helping the environment.

If you prefer drapery for your windows another fabric that is being mentioned often in 2011 trend forecasts is Linen.  It is a green product that is woven from flax fibres and is 100% natural, biodegradable and recyclable.  The production process uses up to 20 times less water and energy to produce than synthetic fibres.  In its natural or oatmeal-coloured state no added chemicals or bleaches have been used.  Linen is virtually lint free, non-allergenic and offers UV protection; making it a perfect choice for the environment as well as a beautiful treatment for your windows.
